Theatrical performance and legacy
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has cemented its place in box office history. Sony has banked $2.5 billion worldwide from the movie, making it the third highest-grossing film in cinema history. It also became the highest-grossing movie in domestic box office history earlier this week and was the biggest film at the global box office in 2026.
The film's theatrical run has been extended until November 16. This gives it a theatrical window of over three and a half months. This is the longest theatrical run for a Sony release since Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. The movie was originally a summer release.
Release timeline and uncertainties
While the disc release is firmly dated for December 14, 2026, the path to that date saw some changes. It was previously reported that the film would hit 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 17, 2026. That November date has since been removed from many retailer listings.
No information is available yet on whether the physical media releases will include any bonus features. There has also been discussion about a potential cinema re-release with added footage, but this remains unconfirmed. The film is set for disc release on 14th December 2026.
