Two major Star Wars films might be inching closer to production. According to the latest issue of Production Weekly both Star Wars: New Jedi Order and an untitled movie from Dave Filoni are listed, hinting at possible forward momentum for the projects.

Project Details for New Jedi Order
Information on New Jedi Order remains limited, but a broad outline is known. The film is set to feature Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey, approximately 15 years after the events of 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The story will follow her efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still attached to direct. The screenplay has seen considerable turnover. Original writers Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were fired after two years of development. Their replacement, Steven Knight, departed the project in October 2024.
In January 2025, George Nolfi was reported to have taken over as screenwriter. Since then, concrete news has been scarce. Ridley herself offered a non-committal "perhaps" when asked on Live with Kelly and Mark if filming would start soon.
The Mysterious Filoni Film
The Dave Filoni-directed movie is even more shrouded in uncertainty. It has been described as a "Mandoverse" adventure, weaving together narratives from The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. The project's direction may have shifted following the critical and commercial performance of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which grossed $345 million worldwide.
Another planned film, James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi, was shelved before Filoni assumed leadership of Lucasfilm in January 2026.
