Cliff Booth Film Title, IMAX Dates Revealed

Netflix has finally announced the title for David Fincher's upcoming film. The movie, written by Quentin Tarantino, is called The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth.

This confirms the project as a sequel to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Brad Pitt reprises his role as stuntman-turned-fixer Cliff Booth.

Release Strategy

The film will first debut in IMAX cinemas. Its theatrical run begins on 25th November.

It will then start streaming on Netflix from 23rd December. This provides a two-week exclusive window for the large-screen format.

Title Mystery Solved

For months, Netflix was notably vague about the film's name. Previous press releases and promotional materials on Netflix's Tudum site referred to it only as "the movie", "the film", or "David Fincher’s newest film".

A one-minute teaser that aired in February also did not mention the title. Various outlets that recorded and uploaded the Super Bowl ad simply labeled it The Adventures Of Cliff Booth.

The title that had been bandied about for nearly a year was The Adventures Of Cliff Booth. The newly announced title is slightly longer, adding the word "Further Mis-" to the beginning. According to the source, this coyness made the film difficult to promote and led to speculation that the studio had not settled on a final name.

Story Details

The sequel's story moves forward in time to 1977. Netflix's logline describes a "very different Hollywood".

Cliff Booth is now a 'fixer'. His job is to keep Hollywood stars' salacious antics out of the newspapers.

This role leaves the anti-hero with a foot in both the glamorous and unseemly sides of Los Angeles. His old friend Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the original film, is reportedly nowhere to be seen in this sequel.

The film features an ensemble cast. Co-stars include Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.
